The Londoner eats humble pie for St John hotel slip-up

4 December 2012

Further to my story yesterday on the St John Hotel in Leicester Street going into administration just 18 months after opening, and less than a month after winning a Michelin star, owners Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver have been in touch to say that while the hotel is indeed in administration it is not closed, contrary to my report.

The pots are still bubbling merrily in the kitchen and the maids are still plumping pillows in the hotel, which is fully booked until Christmas, while a buyer is sought. Gulliver and Henderson are indeed hoping to buy it back. Good luck to them. By way of an apology, the Londoner will be eating humble trotter pie.
