Rupert Everett makes a killing at awards along with his Sarah Lund jumper

Rupert Everett, a man so maverick that he can get away with wearing a knitted jumper and jacket combo to an awards ceremony, was crowned Best Actor at the Palace Theatre last night at the Whatsonstage.com awards.

Everett, who won for his performance as Oscar Wilde in The Judas Kiss, joked that he “might retire now” while he was on a high.

Everett had to fend off stiff competition from Mark Rylance, David Suchet and Adrian Lester, at the awards with his wife, actress and playwright Lolita Chakrabarti.
