Rum do keeps Frost party spirit alive

One summer soirée that will be sorely missed this year will be Sir David Frost’s legendary Chelsea garden party. Almost a year on from the broadcaster’s death, his son George is keeping the convivial spirit alive with the launch party for his own rum brand, The Duppy Share.

Frost, 27, who has corralled chums like Ben Goldsmith to back the drinks brand, has fond memories of the summer dos that his father threw at their family home in Carlyle Square, Chelsea. Guests included Jude Law, Joanna Lumley and Pippa Middleton. “There were some amazing parties. I remember one year George Bush senior playing football and falling flat on his face,” recalls Frost.

“This year will be bittersweet as my mother won’t have the parties without him. I know Dad would be proud of what we’ve achieved — although in fact he hated rum.”
