Who will replace Adam Boulton as Sky News’s chief political correspondent? The money, says Paddy Power, is piling onto Channel 4 News presenter Cathy Newman. But spare a thought for Joey Jones, Boulton’s deputy.

Word reaches The Londoner that he happened to see Boulton’s computer screen on which were the names Gary Gibbon, Channel 4 News political editor, and the BBC’s James Landale. Conclusions were drawn that it was a list of Boulton’s preferred successors. There’s been talk that Sky bosses wanted someone “more exotic” than Jones. Landale and Gibbon exotic? Hardly.
