Mild pandemonium at the West End

Glorious scenes of mild pandemonium at the West End’s Queen’s Theatre this Saturday, after a problem with the stage mechanics forced the evening’s performance of Les Misérables to be limited to a concert version.

Accompanied by a chorus of shouts and boos, many audience members marched into the lobby to vent their anger at theatre staff, who were simultaneously trying to prevent intoxicated Gay Pride revellers from tumbling in to use the toilet facilities. Perhaps next time the staff should take advantage of the French Revolutionaries’ barricades.
