Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman was at Nobu Berkeley to announce footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood as the winner of the £200,000 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund award.
Kirkwood, who burst into tears on the podium, later said: “The financial help is amazing but also the acknowledgement, the validation and the mentorship.” Sir Philip Green, owner of Topshop, said: “I think Kirkwood is a great choice. Now let’s see if we can help him build a great brand.”
