Detroit a better city to live in than London - shocker

Cries of disbelief took over Twitter yesterday after the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) released its annual liveability index. The survey not only named London as the third-least desirable place to live in Europe but also awarded Detroit — which last year filed for bankruptcy and has 16.4 per cent unemployment — a higher rating.

“Perhaps it’s time to revisit your model?” tweeted cultural commentator Ian Leslie. “Of all the ‘best cities to live in’ pseudo-scientific studies, that one is at the summit of idiocy.” Hear, hear.
