Woman suffers head injuries after being hit by car in Brixton

A woman in her 50s is seriously injured after being struck by a car in south London.

The collision took place in Brixton Hill, at the junction of Hayter Road, at around 9.30am this morning.

London Ambulance Service were called to the scene and the woman was taken to Kings College Hospital as a priority suffering with head injuries. Police described her injuries as “not life threatening”.

A spokesman for the LAS said: “We were called at around 9.30am this morning to reports of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Brixton Hill.

“We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. We treated a woman, reported to be in her 50s, for head and leg injuries. She was taken as a priority to Kings College Hospital.”

Brixton Hill has been cordoned off while police make enquiries. There have been no arrests.
