London's property market is widely considered a headache for both renters and buyers.

Tenants are regularly faced with paying over the odds for a glorified box room with a toilet crammed in the corner - next to an oven.

Here are three properties which sparked reaction at the state of London's property market.

1. 'Not very nice' one bedroom flat in Hoxton: The estate agents offering this small flat to rent in east London were unusually honest about its lack of character. Priced at £997 per month, the property was described on Zoopla as “Not a very nice one bedroom flat [sic] but like the budgie it’s cheap, open plan, well used kitchen, and if you can call it this – a small lounge.”

2. Earls Court flat hardly bigger than a single bed: This central London pad was described as probably best suited to those who like breakfast in bed. The £170 per week property included a 'kitchen' at the top of the tenant's pillow. Unfortunately the advert had no mention of a toilet or of where people might relieve themselves...

3. Tiny north London flat with kitchen sink inches from the bed: A studio flat in Kember Street, Islington was was snapped up within hours – despite costing nearly £750 a month rent. The property was criticised for being overpriced on social media despite proving popular with scores of prospective tenants.
