Prime Minister Theresa May was bundled to safety by plain-clothed police as MPs praised the emergency services following today’s terror attack in London.

Four people including a police officer were killed as a terror attack struck the heart of Westminster.

Mrs May was seen being escorted into a silver Jaguar guarded by police officers after shots rang out at Parliament at just after 2.40pm on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister, who was reportedly in the division lobby during a Commons vote when the attack happened, was driven away from the scene.
