A mesmerising video of east London landmarks captured from the air has been watched thousands of times online.

The three and a half minute clip, which is believed to have been filmed using a low-flying drone, takes a short tour through some of the area's best loved spots.

Starting at the Hackney Empire in Mare Street, the camera whizzes around a number of notable sights, including Clissold Park, the London Fields Lido, Victoria Park boating lake and the Dalston Lane mural.

Haggerston Park BMX track, Columbia Road flower market, Regent's Canal and Brick Lane are among the other attractions seen in the footage.

The film, which was uploaded to YouTube on Monday on behalf of Honey Worth productions, includes the famous Samuel Johnson quote: "When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life", which is then adapted to read "east London".

Film-maker Matthew Whitworth is believed to be its creator.

Its soundtrack, created by David O'Brien and Gareth Johnson, is entitled 'Stratosphere'.
