Passers-by were left gawping after a race car was hoisted more than 300 feet into the air to the top of a Canary Wharf skyscraper.

The stunt marked a new partnership between Aston Martin Racing and Central London specialist residential property developer Mount Anvil.

The specatacle, on Tuesday evening, saw the £1 million luxury car lifted 31 storeys onto the top of Dollar Bay.

The 2016 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE Challenger was lifted by crane onto the roof of the glass tower, which overlooks the capital's financial district.

Luxury: the Aston Martin was hoisted into the skies

The stunt came just ahead of Aston Martin Racing kicking off the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship this weekend.

The car did not spend long in London's skies, as it was taken down later the same night, organisers said.
