An art auction raised £11,000 for charity.

Original drawings by Andy Warhol and Georgio Armani contributed towards raising the large sum at the auction, curated by Roberto Gagliardi - who also donated most of the ten auction items.

The sum raised went to help the Chelsea Salvation Army and Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign.

More than three hundred artists, Ambassadors and art collectors gathered at the Chelsea Town Hall for the event.

Tillman Sachs, President of Rotary Club of Kensington, said: “ This was a brilliant event in the international spirit of Rotary and I am delighted that the proceeds will help not only children here in Chelsea but will also enable thousands of children abroad to be vaccinated against polio in the coming year.

"In 2012 there were only 220 polio cases worldwide, the lowest number ever, and we are this close to eradicating it and must keep up the pressure to make it happen. We are most grateful to Roberto for giving us this opportunity.”
