This is the moment a Lamborghini driver arrives in the nick of time to save his £260,000 supercar from being towed away by parking wardens.

A crowd had gathered to watch the Kensington and Chelsea parking contractors as they prepared to haul the red and black sports car away this afternoon, by fitting equipment to the wheels.

But luckily for the owner, he arrived on the scene just in time to stop them, shouting "guys, guys" to grab their attention.

The wardens instead slapped a ticket on the windscreen of the Lamborghini Aventador which was parked in Derry Street, Kensington, close to the Kensington Roof Gardens entrance.

The driver, who was wearing matching red and black trainers and sports clothing, and a single orange glove, then got into the car and drove off.

Parking is suspended on Derry Street today, but the car was also sitting at a single yellow line.

Suspensions had been in place since last night when stars of the tennis world gathered in the street ahead of an exclusive pre-Wimbledon party at the Roof Gardens.

The owner would have faced a £200 fee to release the Lamborghini from the pound, on top of his parking fine.

It came a day after Mayor of London Boris Johnson joked he would like to see supercars "impounded and cubed" if they "rev and rev and rev" or break the law, during his monthly question-and-answer session on Twitter.
