The Shard opens - to dizzying reviews

The first paying visitors to View From The Shard — on floor 69 of Europe’s tallest building at 1,016 feet— praised it as London’s answer to New York’s Empire State Building when it opened today.

They said it was “totally worth” the £29.95 adult entrance fee (£23.95 for a child and £100 per person for non-advance bookings) despite low visibility because of rain.

Tickets have already sold out this weekend and bosses said they have sold 135,000 tickets since they went on sale in July.
