The 2015 Men’s Boat Race will start on on the River Thames on Saturday afternoon from 5.50pm.

Rowers from Oxford and Cambridge University rowing teams begin the course at Putney Bridge and continue four miles and 374 yards along the Thames, finishing at Chiswick Bridge.

Before the race, the rowing clubs’ presidents will toss a coin for the right to pick which side of the river they wish to row on.

Oxford rowing team president Constatine Louloudis is aiming for a fourth win in five years.

He will be leading the Dark Blues in the 161st race in the events history and is hopeful it will be a sixth success for the team in eight years.

The former Etonian said a potential fourth and final Boat Race triumph would be "the successful rounding off of an Oxford career”.

"I haven't come here, having won three races, to lose the last one," he said.

"I'm probably hungrier than ever, hungrier to win this one than I have been on any other occasion."

The team also includes a set of brothers for the first time since 2010.

New Zealander Sam O’Connor, 27, will be joined by his younger brother James, 24.

Alex Leichter has been promoted to the role of stroke for the Cambridge team, after successive defeats in the reserve boat.

He will be joined by Luke Juckett, 24, from America, who will reprise his role from last year’s race.

It is the first time in history of the event female rowers will complete the same course as the men.

The women’s race will also start at The Tideway an hour earlier than the men’s race at 4.50pm.

The odds are on for a double win for Oxford’s female and male rowing teams.

Oxford’s mens are ¼ win with Cambridge around 11/4.

The Oxford women are favourites at 1/6.
