A dog on the track reportedly sparked delays on two London Underground lines.

Tube services were temporarily halted in the Notting Hill Gate and High Street Kensington areas while staff rescued the animal on Monday morning.

Passengers near the station were told in an announcement that a dog was being rescued from the tracks.

There are minor delays on both the Circle and District lines due to an “obstruction on the track” in the High Street Kensington area, Transport for London (TfL) said on their website.

Posting on Twitter, Gwen Smith quoted the announcement as saying: “Ladies and gentlemen, we currently have a dog on the track and we are waiting here until it is rescued.”

“There’s a dog on the track at Notting Hill Gate,” London Underground passenger Stephen John Davis wrote. “Obviously, he doesn’t want me to get to the Royal Albert Hall for rehearsal.”

TfL has been approached for further details.
