State of London debate live: Watch as Mayor Sadiq Khan is grilled by public

Sadiq Khan faces a grilling from the public on key London issues in a debate on the state of the capital on Thursday night.

The Mayor of London will appear at indigo at the O2 Arena to face questions on a range of topics, from transport, pollution, housing and safety, at the State of London event.

The two-hour ticketed debate, which will be chaired by presenter James O’Brien, will see an audience of 1,600 people fire questions at the Mayor.

It will be Mr Khan’s second State of London debate, which is required by the Greater London Authority to be held every year, and a string of atrocities in the capital this year, following the Westminster, London Bridge and Finsbury Park attacks and the devastating Grenfell Tower fire.

Last year’s event which came just days after the EU referendum and saw the Mayor address concerns over a rise in racially-motivated incidents.
