A YouTube star sparked panic among her fans who thought her latest clip contained a hidden plea for help.

Fans of vlogger Marina Joyce said they heard the message "help me" in a video posted before she sent a cryptic tweet.

After she invited followers on Twitter to an early morning meet-up in east London, fans around the world expressed fears for the web star's safety using the hashtag #savemarinajoyce.

But police this morning reassured fans that she was safe and well, tweeting: “Officers have visited YouTube user Marina Joyce. She is safe and well.”

Some Twitter users had urged police to intervene last night after the 19-year-old put out an invite to her 136,000 Twitter followers to meet her at Bethnal Green at 6.30am today.

She wrote: “If you want to PARTTEEEYY with me? Tweet me now if you wanna party with me :D ill put details out for where to meet soon for the day.”

The YouTube star later added: “Meet me Bethnal Green at 6:30am if you would like to join partying with me at that event ^-^ bring a friend so you dont get lost.”

Fans began urging one another not to go as concern for the star’s welfare spread.

Another fan posted a lengthy breakdown of the star’s new “Date Outfit Ideas” video, claiming it looked like someone was forcing her to make it.

Vine video star Daz Black tried and failed to reassure people, writing: “I have just spoken with Marina Joyce. Do not worry guys she is not in any danger and I'm even meeting up with her to collab and chat. :)”

But he then sparked further confusion, writing: “Please do not go to Marinas meet up! Stay well clear and do not go to this meet up. Let police handle this.”

Amid confusion over when her meet-up would take place, some fans even claimed to have headed down to Bethnal Green this morning to livestream what was happening. However, there appeared to be no sign of the vlogger.
