Purley crash: Man dead and another fighting for his life after horrific road smash in south London

A man is dead and another is fighting for his life after two cars were involved in a horror road crash in south London.

Medics battled to save one of the drivers following the collision in Purley, Croydon, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second car is in a critical condition in hospital while his passenger is seriously injured.

It happened at about 5.40pm on Wednesday in Little Woodcote Lane.

Now police are appealing for witnesses to the smash in the hope of piecing together what happened.
