Police name pedestrian found dead after crash in Romford

Police are seeking a car driver following the death of a pedestrian a day after he was hit by a vehicle in east London.

Daniel Hancock, 41, was found dead at his home with injuries linked to a collision which happened in Romford on the evening of October 31.

Police said the driver of the car stopped and helped the pedestrian to his feet before leaving the scene in Brentwood Road at around 7.25pm.

Mr Hancock died the following day, with a post-mortem confirming the cause of death as a head injury.

A spokesman for the Met said: “Detectives are keen to speak to the driver of the vehicle and anyone else who witnessed the incident. They believe that the vehicle is a dark coloured estate, possibly with a round yellow taxi sign in the rear window.”
