A mother who allegedly abandoned her newborn baby at a hospital in north west London has still not been found, despite an appeal to track her down.

Police said there had been no breakthrough in the case, and officers were still searching for 35-year-old Anna Chudy on Saturday night.

Ms Chudy gave birth to a healthy baby boy at Northwick Park Hospital in Brent during the early hours of Thursday morning after arriving the night before.

Just over 24 hours later, hospital staff discovered she had gone missing and left her child behind.

Detectives investigating her disappearance today released a CCTV picture of her apparently leaving the hospital on Friday evening.

They believe she could be vulnerable and are "keen to trace her to ensure she is safe and well", Scotland Yard said.

They also released an image of a man who they think Ms Chudy might be with. He is described as white, tall and athletic with short dark brown hair.

He was seen leaving the hospital on the same day as Ms Chudy, police said.
