Pedestrian dies after being hit by bus in Streatham

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a bus in Streatham.

The victim was hit in Mitcham Lane close to Ambleside Avenue at about 5.45pm this evening.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said police were not ready to release more details about the person's identity.

He said: "We were called to reports of a pedestrian colliding with a bus. The pedestrian has died."

The road was closed while officers investigated.
