The parents of a 15-year-old boy who has not been seen since he “nipped round the corner” to get biscuits from a shop six days ago, today made a desperate plea for him to return home.

Benjamin Endeley, from Plumstead, went missing on Wednesday after getting off the 472 bus in Woolwich with friends after school.

The teenager, who attended Woolwich Polytechnic in Thamesmead told a friend he was going to the shop around the corner to buy some biscuits, and has not been seen since.

Today his parents described their frantic search for their son, who loved Formula One racing and Top Gear.

Benjamin’s mother Soli Endeley, 39, said: “We have posters up looking for him all over the area. We are just speaking to people - we have just gone out there to find him.

“It’s coming up to a week since he has gone and perhaps in people’s minds - just remembering where they were at what they saw a week ago - might trigger something.

“If he is reading this - please come home. Your siblings - we - want you to come back.”

She said her son, who does not have a Facebook or Twitter account, has never gone missing before.

Her husband, Paul, 46, described his son as a “bubbly young man” and a “normal teenager”.

He said: “He loves car programmes and animals - we are a very close family and he has never done anything like this before. He doesn’t know London. Apart from the buses to school he has never travelled alone.”

The family thanked Bejamin’s friends and the school for their support.

Mr Endeley added: “We feel awful. It is incredibly distressing. The night is the worst part. It is just so quiet and you start thinking.”

Benjamin, who left his Blackberry at home the day he went missing, often visited the Sam Chicken Shop in Plumstead Road, Woolwich, where he would meet children from other schools, his parents said.

The family have lived in Plumstead, south east London for 11 years.

Scotland Yard have launched an investigation into his whereabouts.

Detective Inspector James Harper, in charge of the investigation, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may help us retrace Benjamin’s movements on 17 April.

“We are currently looking at all CCTV images at our disposal and are following a number of investigative leads. Have you seen Benjamin? Did you see him on the day he went missing

Benjamin is described as black, 5ft 5ins and slim with short hair. He was wearing a school uniform including a black blazer, black trousers, white shirt and red and black tie.
