A motorcyclist was injured in a crash on the North Circular this morning.

A man in his 60s riding a Triumph motorbike crashed with a Chrysler car on the North Circular, near to Colney Hatch Lane in Barnet, at about 8.55am.

He was treated by paramedics for injuries which were not thought to be life threatening.

The accident came shortly after the death of a 26-year-old motorcyclist in Copers Cope Road, Beckenham.

The man was thrown from the bike, believed to be a powerful blue Suzuki, after crashing into a car at up to 60mph at 8.17am.

Meanwhile, emergency services were again called to the North Circular at 9.41am when a lorry briefly caught fire, close to where the earlier motorbike accident took place.
