A motorcyclist is fighting for life after a crash on a busy road in south-west London.

The man, in his 60s, was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after the accident, which also involved a car, in Roehampton Lane on Monday morning.

It is the second serious crash to happen on the same stretch of road in the last six months.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “He was taken to a south London hospital by London’s Air Ambulance in a critical condition.

“Next of kin have not been informed.

“There have been no arrests at this time and enquiries continue.”

The crash happened at about 9.20am and the driver of the car stopped at the scene, police said.

A police cordon was put in place, with buses 72, 265 and 493 currently on diversion.

In August, a motorcyclist died after a collision with a car on the same stretch of road, not far from Queen Mary’s Hospital.
