Mercedes left crumpled after crash with bus in west London

Two drivers were injured today after a crash between a Mercedes and a bus on Chelsea Embankment.

Police said a crane driver moved his vehicle to block Chelsea Embankment from oncoming traffic after the smash at around 6.48am.

Both the Mercedes driver and the driver of the Route 170 to Roehampton bus were taken to hospital in west London with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Chelsea Embankment was closed in both directions between Oakley Street and Beaufort Street for several hours after the crash.

The road has since reopened, according to Transport for London.

A London Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed crews were sent to the scene to treat one man with head injuries, who was taken to St Mary's Hospital, and a second man with leg injuries who was taken to St Thomas's Hospital.
