Medical student ‘took legal high’ before death fall

 

A medical student is believed to have taken a “legal high” before plunging to his death from the balcony of his flat. Passers-by saw Tianhong Tang, 19 of St George’s, University of London, swing his legs over, lose his grip and fall, his inquest heard. A search of his flat in Tooting found empty packets of salvia divinorum — grown in Mexico and ritually used there by shamans to induce visions during spiritual healing sessions. Coroner Dr Shirley Radcliffe, sitting at the Royal Courts of Justice, recorded a verdict of accidental death.
