Londoners have until midnight to register to vote in mayoral elections

Londoners have just a few hours left to register to vote for next month's mayoral election.

The deadline for people to register their vote for the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections on May 5 is at midnight.

People can vote in person, by post or proxy with polling cards sent with details of your nearest station a week before election day.

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on May 5.

Anyone is eligible to providing you live in London, will be at least 18 on voting day and are a British, European Union or Commonwealth citizen who has or does not require leave to remain in the UK.
