Hogarth flyover closure means hat-trick of road chaos in west London

A major road in west London will close for six weeks this summer, potentially causing lengthy delays for motorists.

The Hogarth flyover, which takes cars off Hogarth roundabout, is in need of essential repairs.

The single lane eastbound flyover carries traffic from the A316 onto the A4 Great West Road and will be closed from 19 July until 31 August.

Transport for London said there was “never a good time” to shut the flyover but they had chosen the school summer holidays when the roads are quieter.

West Londoners have had to contend with delays caused by weekend closures of the Hammersmith flyover. Putney Bridge will also shut in mid July for maintenance works, adding to the build up of traffic in south-west London.
