A man stabbed four times in the London Bridge terror attack has been hailed as a “soldier” by a friend after he was pictured in his hospital bed.

Brett Freeman was one of dozens of people to be injured when terrorists mowed down pedestrians on London Bridge and went on a knife rampage in Borough Market.

Seven people killed in the attack on Saturday night.

Friend Darren Mole tweeted a picture of Mr Freeman at his hospital bed the following day, having earlier found out that he had been stabbed four times at the market.

He tweeted: “Just woke up to find a friend of mine stabbed 4 times in the #LondonBridge terror attack.”

On Sunday, he posted a picture of Mr Freeman being cared for in hospital, alongside the caption “he's a soldier”.

The three attackers were in a white Renault transit van which ploughed into pedestrians at about 10pm on Saturday.

The knifemen then drove to Borough Market where they began repeatedly stabbing members of the public before being gunned down by armed officers.

The attackers were shot dead by eight officers who fired 50 bullets, with a member of the public accidentally hit.

The person is believed to be recovering in hospital.

Twelve people were arrested on Sunday as officers raided flats in Barking.

In a statement outside Scotland Yard, Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said: "The situation these officers were confronted with was critical, a matter of life and death - three armed men wearing what appeared to be suicide belts.

“They had already attacked and killed members of the public and had to be stopped immediately."

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has confirmed a Canadian national was one of the seven people killed.

A French man also died in the attack, French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian confirmed.

Dramatic footage and pictures have emerged on social media of gunfire ringing out as armed officers descended on Borough Market.
