Hail cab with a tap on the wrist using new Apple Watch app

Tap: Hailo says the app will allow customers to book cabs discreetly

Black cab firm Hailo today revealed a new Apple Watch app that will allow Londoners to hail a cab with a tap on the wrist.

The user taps the app for next available black cab and is sent the vehicle’s registration plate along with its estimated time of arrival.

Gary Bramall, Hailo’s chief marketing officer, said: “There is a social awareness moment when ordering a cab, the gesture of taking your phone out of your bag or pocket or even just looking at it is a bit of a faux pas when you’re at a dinner table, engaged in conversation.

“With the Apple Watch, you can order a Hailo in a discreet way and safely whizz away in a taxi in no time.”
