Greenford attack: Man in ‘serious’ condition after being hit with baseball bat

A man has been left in a “serious” condition after he was struck by another male with baseball bat in west London.

Police were called shortly after 10.40pm on Wednesday to reports of an altercation on The Broadway, Greenford.

According to the police, a man in his mid-30s is believed to have gotten into a verbal altercation with a 69-year-old male.

The Met Police said in a statement: “A man in his mid-30s is believed to have spoken to someone in a parked car.

“A short while later a man left the car and struck the victim with what was believed to be a baseball bat.

“The injured man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

On Thursday, officers arrested the 69-year-old on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and he remains in a west London hospital.
