Fatal crash: A pensioner has died after being struck by a car in Fulham

An elderly man has been killed after being struck by a car in a busy west London street.

Police and paramedics were scrambled to the scene in Fulham Road at about 11am on Thursday.

The pedestrian, 87, was rushed to hospital in central London where he later died.

Scotland Yard are appealing for witnesses following the fatal crash which involved a Mercedes.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene, officers said.

No arrests have been made.

The force said a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The man’s next of kin have been informed.
