A dog walker is pleading for the return of four missing pets after her van was stolen from outside a house in south London.

Angela Norton, owner of Complete Pet Care, had parked her van outside an owner’s house on her morning rounds on Glennie Road in Streatham when it was taken.

A thief allegedly drove off in the van with five dogs inside yesterday, before dumping the male dog in Sydenham.

Posters distributed around south east London read: “We think they may have been dumping the dogs in different areas en route out of London.

“We are still looking for four dogs, all dogs are spayed.

“A substantial reward for dogs safe return no questions asked.”

Mrs Norton's wife, Jemima, added that the female dogs could have been targeted to sell to breeders.

The 29-year-old told the Standard: “One of the dogs was let out in Sydenham which was the male dog so there are female dogs missing.

“I think it was because Lilly and Mattie were sitting in the front they might have been interested in them and thought that female dogs are good for selling.”

The dogs still missing are a black and white Lurcher , a Cockerpoo, a Yorkshire Terrier and a white Cavapoo.

A spaniel, Sprocket, is recovering after being dumped from the van.

Mrs Norton added: “It’s not been great but we’ve been doing everything we can on social media and we’re trying get posters out everywhere.

“For someone to steal the van and five dogs, it’s never happened, we obviously get one dog that runs into the bushes but we find them in two minutes.

“Mattie, one of the dogs, I took her for her first walk so she’s like one of our dogs too.”

Mrs Norton added that the couple are working with police to find the missing dogs.
