Firefighters were today called to tackle a blaze at a Tottenham Hotspur club shop in Enfield.

Smoke was seen pouring from the roof of the football club's store in Church Street shortly before 7.30am on Tuesday.

Four fire engines and 20 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze, which is believed to have started in the roof space in the flat above the shop.

A London Fire Brigade (LFB) spokesman said the shop and two flats were affected, with 50 per cent of the loft space and roof damaged by fire.

The spokesman added there were no reports of anyone involved or any injuries.

A witness said firefighters were seen peeling tiles from the roof and the fire had originated at the back of the building.

Roads closures were put in place while firefighters attended and buses were placed on diversion.

The fire was brought under control at 9.21am, an LFB spokesman said.

The shop is one of eight official Tottenham Hotspur stores across London and Essex.
