A man has been rushed to hospital after he was hit by a van on Euston Road.

Witnesses said the man was rollerblading near the British Library at the time of the collision but this has not been confirmed.

Scotland Yard said a man had been in collision with a van and added he was not in a life-threatening condition.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 3.07pm to reports of a road traffic collision at Euston Road.

“We sent multiple resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, a motorcycle response unit, an incident response officer and an advanced paramedic

“We treated a patient at the scene and took them as priority to a hospital in west London.”

Transport for London said the eastbound lane of Euston Road, near the junction with Ossulston Street, had been shut because of a “serious collision”.

It added long queues had formed on streets around Euston Road as bystanders warned people through Twitter to avoid the area.
