This is the dramatic moment a BMW erupted in a ball of flames while parked on an east London street.

Flames ripped through the silver BMW 3 Series Coupe after an electrical fire broke out at around 2.30pm on Sunday.

Pictures from the scene on St Paul’s Way, Tower Hamlets, showed fire engulfing the vehicle while a tower of black smoke billowed up into the sky.

Rafel Hernandez, who lives in the street, told the Standard he heard a “shot” before rushing out to see “great smoke”.

A second and third explosion followed as the vehicle smoked for around thirty minutes, he added.
