Dog 'too thin to walk' dumped by wetland in north London

Painfully thin: Morris struggled to walk
Alexandra Rucki14 January 2015

Two dogs were left dumped by wetland in north London and were so thin one struggled to walk.

British bulldog Mo, thought to be five years old, and Staffordshire bull terrier Morris, aged 10, were found by Tottenham Marshes, close to Kessock Close, on January 8.

It is thought they were wandering loose around the area, but stopped and huddled for warmth because Morris was too weak to walk.

Passers-by spotted the pair at the water’s edge and wrapped them in blankets before calling the RSPCA.

Abandoned: British bulldog Mo and Staffordshire bull terrier Morris

Inspector Kate Ford said: “They were such a sad little pair, it broke my heart to see them.

“They were both so painfully thin, they had clearly just not been cared for. Morris the Staffy could barely walk and I had to carry him to the van and then into the animal hospital.

“They are doing a lot better now, thankfully, after a good feed, some warmth and lots of cuddles.

“Morris is quite old and frail, poor thing, but just so adorable, and Mo just loves him. I hope they can be rehomed together but it can be difficult to find homes for two at once.”

The RSPCA are appealing for anyone with information to come forward to help find out how they came to be dumped.

Anyone with information can call 0300 123 8018.
