A cyclist is fighting for life in hospital following a crash with a car in north London.

Emergency services rushed to Goswell Road at the junction of Percival Street in Clerkenwell at around 12.15am on Friday following reports of a crash.

The cyclist, a man believed to be in his 30s, was taken to hospital in a critical condition, Scotland Yard said.

Images shared on social media showed the junction cordoned off with a bike left abandoned in the road.

One witness described the incident as a “truly awful thing to see”.
