A shopping centre in south east London has been evacuated over reports of a “suspicious package”.

Shoppers were forced to leave The Glades, in Bromley, just before 6pm on Saturday as police descended on the area.

Scotland Yard confirmed the busy complex, on High Street, had been evacuated while officers probed a “suspicious package”.

Dramatic images posted on social media showed police cars parked up outside the building as huge crowds formed.
