Barbarella to serve classics at Eighties prices

15 April 2013

Eighties Italian restaurant Barbarella is launching a limited edition menu inspired by its heyday — with prices as they would have been 30 years ago.

Diners at the late-night venue in Fulham Road will be able to enjoy starters of avocado and prawns for £1 and main courses including duck simmered in Cinzano Bianco at £2.85 as it celebrates the appointment of a new chef.

Once a favourite with bands such as Duran Duran, the restaurant was relaunched last October under new owner Jack Freud, nephew of PR guru Matthew. After being sent an original menu, chef Lauren Clement Delbos decided to recreate classic dishes of the era. The menu will launch on April 23 and run for four weeks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
