Dozens of British artists are wielding AK-47s — to bring about global peace.

Big names including Damien Hirst, Sam Taylor-Wood, Jeremy Deller and Antony Gormley have been given a gun to interpret or refashion for an exhibition being curated by Jake Chapman, who is contributing with brother Dinos.

It will promote Peace One Day, founded by London filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, which campaigns for a global truce and fall in violence.

Peace Day is on September 21 and the show is at the ICA in The Mall from September 25 to 30. The AK-47s will be sold at Philips de Pury & Co. on October 4 to raise funds for the initiative.
