A 17-year-old girl has been arrested after two girls of the same age were stabbed in west London.

The victims, whose ages are not known, were attacked at about 5.30pm in West Kensington, police said.

Neither of the girls' injuries are thought to be life-threatening.

Social media users reported that the London Air Ambulance landed near the scene in North End Road.

The victims were taken to hospital and are in a stable condition.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called at approximately 17:35hrs on Monday, 23 April to reports of a stabbing on North End Road, W14.

"Two teenage girls were found suffering from stab injuries.

"A teenage girl was arrested at the scene and has been taken to a west London police station."

In a separate incident on Monday evening, an 18-year-old man was stabbed during a street fight outside a DLR station in south-east London.
