Two men have been arrested after a woman claimed she was dragged into bushes and raped near a Tesco store.
The victim, who police said is aged in her 20s, was allegedly attacked as she walked along the Mill Lane underpass near Maldon in Essex on Saturday afternoon.
She was still being supported by specially trained officers today following the incident close to Tesco on Fullbridge.
Detectives were today questioning two men - a 23-year-old man from London and a 26-year-old man from Maldon - on suspicion of rape.
They are being held in custody while police investigate the allegations.
Officers are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to speak to them.
DCI Simon Werrett, who is leading the investigation for Essex Police, said: "Initial investigations have established men may have been seen acting suspiciously in the area earlier in the day.
"I need to speak with anyone who may have seen or spoken to the men. I would also like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 5.30pm and 7pm who may have seen anything."
