Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman following a house fire in south London.

A 26-year-old man and another in his late 40s are being held after the fatal blaze in Walworth.

Emergency services were called to an address in Asolando Drive shortly after 12.30pm on Friday.

A woman believed to be in her mid-20s was taken to a west London hospital with life threatening injuries where she subsequently died.

A post-mortem examination will take place on Monday. Next of kin have been informed, although formal identification is yet to take place, the Met Police said.

The 26-year-old suspect is in custody at a south London police station, while the older man is being treated for unspecified injuries in hospital. His condition is described as stable.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0208 721 4054 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
