A murder investigation was launched today after a man who was gunned down in north London died in hospital.

Mark McCann-Barrett, 33, from Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire, died of his injuries on Monday.

He was shot in a housing block in Tottenham on September 17 and taken to hospital in east London.

Scotland Yard said Mr McCann-Barett's family have been told about his death.

Louis Kelly, 39, from Kilburn, has been charged with attempted murder and was due to appear at the Old Bailey today.
