A thug who chased and stabbed his victim multiple times has been found guilty of attempted murder.
Mergim Krasniqi, 20, left the 45-year-old with stab wounds following the fight in Empire Way, Wembley, on September 24, 2013.
Harrow Crown Court heard police carried out first aid on the victim until paramedics arrived.
He was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition and had to undergo surgery.
Krasniqi went on the run for 10 days before he was arrested on October 3, 2013. A witness appeal led to evidence linking him to an address in Ada Lewis House.
The court heard evidence was uncovered which showed he was suspected of disposing the weapon used in the assault.
He was found guilty of attempted murder and perverting the course of justice.
A second man Mumin Malik, 24, of Crawford Street, Willesden, also appeared in court but was found not guilty of attempted murder and wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Leutrim Krasniqi, 20, of Victoria Avenue, Wembley, was discharged due to insufficient evidence during an earlier court hearing.
Detective Sergeant Edward Salter said: “I am pleased that this dangerous young man has been found guilty.
“I pay tribute to a number of local residents who came forward to testify and also to the victim and his family for their bravery.”
