Three men were taken to hospital after a drugs-related incident at a gay sauna in south London, police said.

Police said Chariots Sauna in Vauxhall was temporarily closed after officers and paramedics were called in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The venue describes itself as "Europe's largest gay sauna" and features two "30-man" saunas and two "20-man" steam rooms.

A spokesman for the Met said: "Officers attended and spoke to a man in his thirties who admitted consuming class A drugs. He was taken to a north London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

"Two other men were subsequently found collapsed inside the club. Both men were conveyed by London Ambulance Service to a central London hospital where they remain in a stable condition."

The sauna has subsequently reopened after the incident.

The Evening Standard has approached Chariots Sauna for a comment.
