A third person has been arrested after a Vietnamese pensioner was murdered in east London.

Ngoc Giam Dang, 75, was found by police suffering from a head injury in Geffrye Court, Hoxton, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

He was taken to the Royal London Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5.46am.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as head injuries.

A 38-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident and was taken to an east London police station, where he remains in custody.

Officers also arrested a 42-year-old man in Mare Street, Hackney, on suspicion of murder last Thursday. He has been released on bail until August 13. A 47-year-old woman was arrested at the scene but has been released without any further action.
